It’s the week-end ! We made it! We usually spend most of our Saturdays following our son Lucas’ soccer adventures all over Central Florida. Yes, I confess, I am a soccer mom, and I love it! Well, there are no games this week-end.. we are free! We have a dinner with friends to go to, and of course my dilemma is.. What do I wear? Let’s see if I can put together a good week-end dinner outfit!

As you know I love to wear dresses, but sometimes I cave into the practicality of wearing pants and a shirt. It’s funny how I’m so sure of what I want to put on until thirty minutes before I need to be leaving, and then I change my mind about my outfit. Ugh! I’m trying to get better and give myself some alternatives in advance, it does save some prep time! So I thought of some options and these are a few of my favorites.

These are just some cool options on a budget for a casual or semi-formal dinner. I really like the third outfit, I feel the black blazer jacket adds a touch of seriousness to the whole ensemble. It also has more of a Fall season feel to it, even if here, Fall doesn’t really come with any temperature change! The second outfit is very simple and comfortable. The open shoulder detail of the shirt gives it a little dressy touch and it looks super good if you had some bangle bracelets, or a wrist band to go with it.

So, in the end I decided to go with the dress! I just love that combination. I really like the fit of the jeans jacket and the hip vibe that it gives to the whole outfit. The dress is one of my go-to black dresses that never go out of style, consequently, a must have! Read Closet Essentials Every Girl Needs.

I suggest that you pair your outfit with a black purse. It would go just fine with any combination. I love black “everything” because you just can’t make a mistake with it. It just goes with anything you wear. I personally like big bags, but it’s all about your personal taste.

Well, let’s start this week-end! I intend to fill mine with family fun time and maybe a trip to the beach. Remember to relax and indulge in something you like. Visit a special place, a museum, try a new recipe or buy a new dress! Always wear a smile and enjoy the little things! JR

I admit, I am not so great at fashion but want to be better. I love the outfit options you shared here, I am going to try to get some of them so that I have a cool, new option to wear at the week end when I recoup from the week and enjoy the weekend away from it all!

I really like the outfits you chose. They look fashionable without being stuffy. Totally clothes that most people, including myself, could pull off.
