Flu and cold season is here, no joke, I have the flu as I am writing this post. Fever, body aches and cough are no fun, especially for our children. My son had it first and sure enough, he passed it on to me. Thankfully I have a “Survival Kit” with some flu and cold natural remedies, that I put together with some of my favorites OLBAS products. They are a lifesaver when nothing else seems to quite work.

Olbas cough syrup, lozenges and herbal bath are the key components of my Survival Kit.

The COUGH SYRUP is great. It’s an effective blend of five herbal extracts ( thyme, licorice, plantain, pine, chestnut), six essential oils (peppermint, eucalyptus, cajeput, wintergreen, juniper, clove) and wildflower honey. Just knowing that it is made of all natural ingredients makes me feel happier and at ease, especially when I know I can give it to my son without fearing side effects. This wonderful product was reviewed by Safbaby.com and received the MACT (mom approved child Tested) Award. It is safe to be administered to children 3 and up. All its components, not only suppress annoying cough, but they also promote healthy bronchial passages and support our immune system. On the plus side, it also tastes very good, your children won’t complain about taking it!

The LOZENGES are sure to open up your sinuses and airways! They taste like black currant, but the main ingredient is menthol. They provide immediate cough relief and a soothing feeling to sore throats. Vitamin C is also included in them for a boost of the immune system.

The HERBAL BATH, oh my, this is wonderful! I used this in a bubble bath, by my son really enjoyed some of this blend in the shower, to open up his nose passages. The shower’s steam, plus this mix of these essential oils worked as a charm. What I find most beneficial about this herbal bath is the soothing and relaxing effect on achy, sore muscles. When the flu strikes with awful body aches, this is my go-to solution.

These are my flu and cold natural remedies, but Olbas also has more great products, available at PENNHERB.COM. Olbas products’  formula was created in Switzerland over 100 years ago from Swiss herbalists.  I use Olbas Oil and Inhaler almost everyday for my whole family. My son especially benefits from them in the attempt to ease his seasonal allergies and stuffy nose.

They also have an analgesic salve and a herbal tea which I haven’t personally tried yet, but I am sure they are fantastic! Their website has a lot of wonderful resources about the essential oils and herbs they use to create these products. They list their qualities and applications so that costumers can have a better understanding of the healing properties of Olbas ingredients.
So, take care of yourself during this flu & cold season and try Olbas remedies!
