We all deeply care about our children’s health and for this reason, we always want the best products available for them.  When it comes to my son, I try to possibly address any health concerns in a natural way. Modern medicine frightens me a little since there’s often a long list of serious side effects that comes with it. Consequently, I choose a natural approach first, unless medication is necessary. In my cabinet I always have these 5 natural remedies: Inositol, Magnesium oil, Probiotics, Propolis spray and Arnica gel.

5 best natural remedies for children

natural remedies Jarrow Inositol Powder
Jarrow Inositol Powder

Inositol is also falsely known as vitamin B8. It really is a carbohydrate that tastes sweet, naturally found in citrus fruit. This supplement is like a precious gem to me because it has a lot of health benefits with minimal side effects. In addition to detoxing the liver, it helps tremendously children and adults suffering from anxiety and Ocd. A quarter of a teaspoon has helped my son keep his anxiety under control. Jarrow brand is my favorite and of course it comes highly recommended.

natural remedies magnesium oil
Asutra Magnesium Oil

I already wrote about this wonderful product, but I can’t help but brag about it. The oil is highly absorbed by the skin without upsetting our digestive system, in opposition to the pill form. It is very useful if your children play strenuous sports and expel a lot of magnesium through sweat. Low levels of this mineral can also cause muscle soreness and cramps, but luckily, a couple of sprays of this oil will improve it quickly.

natural remedies hyperbiotics
Hyperbiotics Pro-Kids

These should be a must have in everybody’s house. Our children’s tummies get upset from time to time, so what’s better than some probiotic to replenish their digestive flora?! Hyper-Biotics is a great brand with awesome reviews. The pills are very small, therefore easy to swallow. They also have an ENT probiotics formula that helps a depleted oral microbiome.

natural remedies propolis spray
Propolis Spray

You can’t be without this in winter months, when colds and flu show up! Propolis is the substance that bees collect from plant resins to line their hives to protect them from bacteria. We might know it as nature’s antibiotic. I spray some in my son’s throat at the first sign of a cold or sore throat and it helps tremendously lessen the symptoms.

natural remedies Arnica gel
Arnica Gel

I love this gel for the whole family. Arnica is an herb that has been used for many years to treat aches, bruises and swelling. A pediatrician recommended it to me to treat my son’s soccer injuries and I since then, I always keep some with me. I also apply it to my lower back when it’s sore, and certainly helps ease the pain. It’s one of the oldest natural remedies around.

Nature’s ways of healing our body fascinate me. I read a lot about it and I like to hear people experiences about it, so if you want to share yours, I will be happy to hear it!

Recently I stumbled upon some great materials from ULTIMATE BUNDLES. This company offers a great digital collection of e-books, e-courses etc. about HERBS & ESSENTIAL OILS for a very affordable price. Jessica, thank you for this nice explanation of these treatments. I have heard of some of these, but no one has explained how a few of them were administered.

Magnesium lotion is something I use frequently when changing my work outs. It’s made a huge difference in my recovery time. Definitely need to look into probiotic for myself!

This is such a helpful list. It is great to know when we aren’t too sure of an over the counter med that we can try these types of ideas.

I’m so with you on this one. I always try to treat things naturally if I can. And of course, kids can benefit from natural care too. I’m personally a huge fan of magnesium oil, arnica, and I couldn’t live without probiotics

I tend to be very cautious about natural remedies. Often the claims are outrageous and have no studies to back them up. I have used arnica many times for muscle aches though.
